Changing your tax advisor — easier than you think.
Less spectacular than its reputation: no fixed date needed, no gap, little effort on your side. The firms organise the handover between themselves.
What you should know
An engagement can usually be ended at any time; work in progress is billed and handed over. The previous advisor is professionally obliged to an orderly handover — your records belong to you. The best moment is not year-end but: as soon as it no longer fits.

Frequently asked questions
Do I have to terminate my current advisor before switching?
Engage the new advisor first, then terminate — no gap. Engagements can usually be ended at any time; the firms organise the handover between themselves.
How does my data move to the new advisor?
If both firms use DATEV, accounting and payroll data transfer via the DATEV migration service — complete and lossless. Otherwise we import standard export formats.
