Family foundations.
A family foundation binds wealth across generations — when it fits the case. We assess soberly when it does, and when not.
When a foundation carries
When wealth is to be held together permanently, protected from fragmentation and governed by clear rules — independent of individual successions. The foundation owns itself; the family is provided for as beneficiaries. Endowment triggers inheritance/gift tax; the foundation pays corporate tax, and every 30 years the substitute inheritance tax applies — plannable if priced in from the start. We model both paths over decades before recommending one.
